MEP visit boosts local campaign

Chafford Liberal Democrats campaign received a boost over the weekend when Andrew Duff, the party's Member of the European Parliament called to shore up support. He was seen canvassing in North Stifford and other parts of Chafford Hundred where the Liberal Democrats are expecting to regain the seat they lost in 2004.

Liberal Democrat Manfesto 2008

Thurrock is a lovely place to live and work. Liberal Democrats want to make it more attractive to indviduals, families, professionals and thriving businesses. However there are serious inadequacies with respect to the strategic planning for appropriate infrastructural development and essential services for existing residents and the impending housing expansion and accompanying population growth in the area.

Liberal Democrats looking forward to an eventful 2007

Thurrock Liberal Democrats have started the year with some exciting activities continuing with their road safety and health campaigns as well as fighting for a fair share of public services for Thurrock residents. We will scrutinise the Council's activities and hold elected members to account when they are remiss in their duties.

Lib Dems Embark on Road Safety Campaign

Thurrock Liberal Democrats have launched a massive road safety campaign by sending two road safety petitions to Thurrock Council and separate letters calling on the Leader of the Council and Essex Police to take immediate action to stop the regular and flagrant violations of weight restrictions by HGVs including petrol tankers on Devonshire Road on Chafford Hundred.

Thurrock Gazette petition

Official responses to Thurrock General Hospital Petition

Following the recent presentation of a 10,000 signature petition to the Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street, The Thurrock Hospital Campaign Group led by The Liberal Democrats have received a letter of acknowledgement on behalf of the Prime Minister in which he thanked us for our letter and petition.

Lib Dems set to fight local by-elections

Thurrock Liberal Democrats have selected John Livermore and Paul Riley to contest the wards of Grays Riverside and The Homesteads respectively in the forthcoming by-elections which are due to take place on 1st December 2005. These elections were caused by the resignation of a Labour councillor and the cessation of membership of a Conservative councillor.

Earnshaw Palmer to fight for Thurrock

Thurrock Liberal Democrats unanimously selected hard working campaigner Earnshaw Palmer, as their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, at a packed meeting held at the Drake Community Centre on Wednesday 16th February 2005.

Make sure you are registered to vote!

If the General Election is called for 5th May, which is what all the commentators expect, only people on the electoral roll by 11 March will be able to vote. That means there is under one month left to register.
