Liberal Democrat prospective parliamentary candidate for Thurrock, Carys Davis, has torpedoed Labour's criticisms re proposed prison ships off Tilbury. The Conservatives are considering reintroducing prison ships to help deal with prison overcrowding.

MEP visit boosts local campaign

Chafford Liberal Democrats campaign received a boost over the weekend when Andrew Duff, the party's Member of the European Parliament called to shore up support. He was seen canvassing in North Stifford and other parts of Chafford Hundred where the Liberal Democrats are expecting to regain the seat they lost in 2004.
